Celtic Solar
Celtic Solar is a family business with a passion for renewables
Celtic Solar has been a mainstay of the Noosa area since 2010. Originally founded by Tony & Mel Morrissey, who provided quality systems to hundreds of happy customers.
Now owned and operated by Cam and Chelsey Walker who have been in the solar industry for nearly 20 years. With a love of Noosa and a passion for renewables they jumped at the chance for a sea change and purchased Celtic Solar, they bought with them their son Nixon who is a skilled Electrician and Solar installer.
Who are the Walkers…originally from the Albury/Wodonga region they are parents of 3 tradesman sons – Ryley, Nixon and Mason. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a business mindset, the couple embarked on the life of self employment in the early 2000’s as C&C Walker Electrical. Chelsey had a natural ability with numbers and Cam was a skilled Electrician, having learnt the trade through the Australian Navy. They later purchased KDEC, an already well-known family business that had been around since the ’90s and became the partnership, heart, and soul behind KDEC Electrical & Solar as it stands today. They are pleased to call Noosa home now!
KDEC stands for Kaitler, Data, Electrical, Communications, but for Cam and Chelsey, it stands for family, passion, quality, and integrity. When they purchased KDEC, there were only 6 employees who specialised in data and fibre optics. Over the years KDEC has since grown to 35+ employees and expanded into general electrical and is most well known for specialising solar power and exceptional customer service.
Celtic Solar is part of the KDEC Group – with the team on the ground in Noosaville, backed by our experienced and dedicated Albury team. Together, they intend on continuing to build on what Tony & Mel started all those years ago.
I believe businesses become successful organically simply because of quality. Quality team, quality products & quality work practices.

We understand that upfront payments aren’t an option for everyone. We do offer payment plans, which we can discuss during your quote. If you’re happy to proceed with KDEC, we request a 10% deposit to secure your investment, followed by a 30% stage payment prior to installation and finally the 60% balance once your new KDEC solar system has been installed.
We don’t believe there is ‘one size fits all’ for solar systems. Where a lot of companies will provide the same 6.6kW “cookie-cutter” quote, we like to meet with you for a personal consultation to tailor a specific solution for your property, needs, and budget.
‘Small Scale Technology Certificates’ are a Federal Government incentive under the Renewable Energy Target (RET). Under this scheme, each certificate represents a projected tonne of greenhouse gases saved up to the year 2030 through your renewable energy system.
In Australia, each household is entitled to the ‘STC’ rebate. Depending on the state and eligibility criteria, you may be eligible for further rebates specific to the system you are installing. Our solar team will be able to advise you of each rebate relevant to you.
Using solar power at home can help offset your overall power usage and lower your living costs.
If no one is home during the day, solar is still a great investment! Most homes are able to export excess power back to the solar grid for a credit to your electricity bill.
With the myriad of government incentives available and the price of systems dropping, there has never been a better time to get into solar.
